Is Hamilton reaching to other schools for learnings, especially schools that are similarly situated like Colgate, Colby, Williams, etc.?
Julie
56:52

Bill Lazenby - P'23

59:22
How is Admissions adjusting to its criteria to accommodate the disruptive nature of many school experiences at the moment?

01:00:47

01:01:19
What are the metrics required to relax restrictions and create more “normal” Hamilton experience?
Susan Keirouz
01:02:20
My junior is killing himself to improve his GPA for grad school. last semester was p/f, he needs some grades! it is disheartening to work so hard for your grade just to have it switched to a pass. the students are working too hard!
Tommy Thompson '73
01:04:33
Congratulations on a remarkable effort and (so far) remarkable results! Have other colleges consulted Hamilton for best practices to use on their campuses?
Tommy Thompson '73
01:05:52
Gotta run for my next Zoom meeting. Thanks for the opportunity to hear about Hamilton's success!
Jamal Khan
01:07:33
Can you talk about the future of Liberal Arts education? How do you see it evolving? Many non-liberal arts schools align with business (research) to supplement funding needs. Does you envision Hamilton investing in such efforts in specific areas?
Allison Williams
01:08:24
We were promised by the school to have grades this semester. My D is also focused on grad schools and needs her grades! If pass/fail is offered it should be an OPTION, not a mandate. Going pass/fail would essentially lock her out of grad school, which is totally unfair. She has worked so hard - as have many students - and it is unfair to go mandated pass/fail!
melissa
01:09:29
I echo Susan Kierouz’s note about pass/fail. My son wants the grades as well.
Ted Frese
01:10:04
Do you think some form of blended education will continue after the pandemic has passed, and if so, what would be the impact on our residential model?
David Lahey
01:10:37
this pass fail will make the kids actually more rounded students and they need this at this time. Long term the grad schools are now aware of pass fail as a standard and introducing new interview processes
A Crane
01:12:10
any thoughts on having “mental health” planned days during the spring semester?

Remember it's not just important to choose students of color when discussing diversity, equity and inclusion. All students make up this community after all. Let's make sure we ask all students about DEI and if they are not a POC, how they can be allies.

It seems to make sense for families that are within driving distance to not pack up most of their room as they can easily come back to pick things up. Given the workload the last thing they need during finals is this additional workload. Also the packing gives a strong emotional signal that they are not coming back. I hope you will reconsider this and not make packing rooms universal!
Ellen Quish P'23
01:36:26
